Aston ran for election to the 127th District Court, but was defeated by fellow Republican Russell Lloyd in the primary election. Lloyd will compete against incumbent R.K. Sandill in the general election.

The answer I gave was that every matter that was before me was an important issue to the parties involved, perhaps the most important issue of their lives. I am committed to treating every matter with importance, impartiality, and efficiency to provide the best opportunity for a fair outcome based on the principles of the laws of this great state and this nation.

Career
Aston is working as in-house counsel for the Harris County Tax Office. She began her career with the City of Houston doing construction litigation and environmental enforcement.[3]
