Zoie Saunders is the Vermont Secretary of Education. She assumed office on April 30, 2024.
Governor Phil Scott (R) appointed Saunders as interim Vermont Secretary of Education in March 2024 to replace Acting Secretary Heather Bouchey.[1] She was later appointed as permanent secretary, effective November 26, 2024.[2]
Biography
Prior to her appointment, Saunders worked as the chief strategy and innovation officer for Broward County Public Schools, Florida. She previously worked as the chief education officer for Fort Lauderdale, Florida.[3]
