The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 25, 2014. Incumbent Michael Butler was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Robert Vroman was unopposed in the Republican primary. Butler faced Vroman in the general election.[4][5] Incumbent Butler defeated Vroman in the general election, and was re-elected to another term.[6]
