Harvey Jay III is a judge of the Florida 5th District Court of Appeal. He assumed office on January 1, 2023. His current term ends on January 7, 2031.

Jay ran for re-election for judge of the Florida 5th District Court of Appeal. He won in the retention election on November 5, 2024.

Jay was formerly a judge on the Fourth Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed to the Fourth Circuit Court by Governor Rick Scott in October 2011 and was re-elected without opposition in 2014.[1][2]

Jay was recommissioned from the Florida First District Court of Appeal to the Florida Fifth District Court of Appeal on January 1, 2023, by Gov. Ron DeSantis.[3]

Jay received his undergraduate degree from Stetson University and his J.D. from the University of Florida.[1]

Jay spent his legal career in private practice. From 1991 to 2011, he was a partner with the law firm of Saalfield, Shad, Jay, Stokes, Inclan and Stoudemire P.A.[1]
