Tommy Fraley was a candidate for an Eastern District seat on the Burke County Board of Education in North Carolina. The seat was up for general election on November 3, 2015.[1] Tommy Fraley lost the general election on November 3, 2015.

Fraley stated his intention to withdraw from the race on September 10, 2015, through a statement on his campaign's Facebook page. He did not decide to withdraw until after the withdrawal deadline. His name still appeared on the ballot.[2][3]

Four of the seven seats on the Burke County Board of Education were up for election on November 3, 2015. The available seats included one at-large seat and three seats representing geographical regions within the district.

Incumbent R. L. Icard defeated Robert Murray for the at-large seat. In the Central District, incumbent Don Hemstreet ran unopposed and won re-election. Incumbent Randy Burns defeated Tommy Fraley in the Eastern District, and incumbent Edna B. Weller defeated Susan C. Jones for the Western District seat.[1][4]
