Scott Rasmussen's Number of the Day
September 29, 2025: Forty-three percent (43%) of voters say it would be a very serious problem if the government was shut down. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found just 3% say it would be not at all serious.
The survey also found that 19% believe it is very likely that Congressional leaders will reach an agreement in time to avoid a partial government shutdown, and 45% say this is somewhat likely. Twenty percent (20%) say this is not very likely, and 8% say it is not at all likely.
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on September 23-24, 2025. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of Registered Voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
Scott Rasmussen is the president of RMG Research, Inc. and founder of the Napolitan Institute.
