Greene provided the below statement for the 2017 Kitsap County voters' pamphlet:[8]
| “ | I have been honored to represent Central Kitsap School District Area 5 since 2008, both as an appointed and elected school board member. For over nine years, I have focused on ensuring CKSD offers Kitsap County’s best learning opportunities for all students and that staff have the right tools to provide students with knowledge, skills, and confidence that translate to both college and careers.
During my most recent term, I championed development of CKSD’s Strategic Plan, a road map to greater future success for all CKSD schools. I am deeply committed to the strategic goals of student achievement, safe schools, skilled staff, community engagement and fiscal responsibility. I continue to advocate for using technology to improve instruction, increasing family engagement in the learning process, and creating additional learning options to reflect that one size does not fit all in public education. I strongly support building community partnerships to expand resources and real-world opportunities for students. I am eager to continue serving the community on the CKSD Board of Directors. I pledge to renew my focus on analyzing data from numerous sources, including student and community feedback, to continue improving the overall educational experience provided to CKSD students.[9] |

I have been resolute in insisting the school board govern in accordance with policy and procedure and will continue to fight for decisional positions based on data that matters in order to ensure that CKSD remain a good steward of public money.
CKSD has significant matters to address in the next several years. Among these are the selection of a permanent Superintendent, possible changes to elementary and secondary school configuration, and determining the best way to incorporate digital content into educating our students. I pledge to do my best to live up to the high expectations of the CK community and to work with my fellow board members, the administration, and the staff to make sure that these and other decisions are always in the best interests of our students.
