The Arizona Recall Amendment did not make the November 6, 2012 general election ballot in the state of Arizona as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. According to reports, the measure would have required a primary election between recall candidates. The winners of those elections would have advanced to a general election. The measure's formal title in the Arizona Legislature was Senate Bill 1449, which was sponsored by State Senator Steve Smith.[1]

Path to the ballot

A majority vote is required in the Arizona State Legislature to send a measure to the ballot. The measure, however, did not make the ballot during the session.
