David Stansbury will fill municipal court vacancy

Ohio: Yesterday, Governor Ted Strickland announced that David Stansbury will join the Licking County Municipal Court. Stansbury's term will commence July 12, 2010, to fill the vacancy created when David Branstool was elevated to the Licking County Court of Common Pleas. Of the appointment, the Governor said, "David not only brings judicial experience to the court, but also a proven commitment to serving the citizens of his community through civic involvement and his distinguished legal career."[1]

Stansbury has served as an acting judge on the court he was appointed to, since 2005. Also, he has been a private practice lawyer in Licking County since 1999.[2]

If he wish to keep his seat, Stansbury will have to run for rentention in November 2011.[2]
