The Judicial Update

November 28, 2011

Pennsylvania: Earlier this month, Chief Justice Ronald Castille appointed a new administrative judge for the Trial Division of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas. Judge John W. Herron will step into the role most recently filled by Judge D. Webster Keogh. Herron has served on the Common Pleas Court since 1987. He previously served as administrative judge of the Civil Division, from 1996 to 2002.[1]

As administrative judge, Herron will have the ability to assign judges to cases, as well as handling all other aspects of administration. Those include: improving and maintaining technology, reporting statistics, case management, personnel issues, and fiscal oversight.[1]
