Chuck Cerny is a judge for the Knox County General Sessions Court Division I in Knox County, Tennessee. He was appointed to the court in 1998, assumed office in early 1999. He is based out of the City of Knoxville, Tennessee.[1][2] Cerny was re-elected in 2014 for a term that expires on August 31, 2022.[3]

Primary: He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on May 6, 2014.
General: He won without opposition in the general election on August 7, 2014. [3][4]

Education

Cerny received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University in 1983 and his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee in 1986 (with honors).[2]

Career

Cerny began his career in 1986 as a criminal defense attorney, focusing on worker's compensation and domestic law. He then worked in the Hamilton County District Attorney General’s Office from 1989 to 1994 and the Knox County District Attorney General’s Office from 1994 to 1999. In 1998, he was appointed to the General Sessions Court.[2]
