Robert G. Montgomery (Republican Party) is a judge of the Ohio Fifth District Court of Appeals. He assumed office on February 9, 2025. His current term ends on February 8, 2031.

Montgomery (Republican Party) ran for election for judge of the Ohio Fifth District Court of Appeals. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.


Montgomery was elected to the office on November 2, 2010.[1] Montgomery was re-elected to the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas Probate Division in 2014, winning a term that expired on February 8, 2021.[2]

Biography

Education

Montgomery received his undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University in 1989 and his J.D. from Capital University Law School in 1996.[1]

Career

Immediately prior to joining the Probate Court, Montgomery served as the recorder for Franklin County from 2000 until 2010. Before that, he was a partner at a firm specializing in estate planning, real estate, and business law. Montgomery has also served as assistant prosecutors for the Village of Hartford and the City of Newark, and worked as a licensed title agent.[1][3]
