An Anchor Bay School District Levy Increase measure was on the May 8, 2012 ballot in the Anchor Bay school district area which is in Macomb St. Clair.

This measure sought to increase the current school levy by a rate of $.50 per $1,000 of assessed value for a period of three years in order to further pay for recreational playgrounds and the community pool in the district.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in Anchor Bay School District, Macomb and St. Clair Counties, Michigan, be increased by and the board of education be authorized to levy not to exceed 0.5 mill ($0.50 on each $1,000.00 of taxable valuation) for a period of 3 years, 2012, 2013 and 2014, for the purpose of providing funds for operating a system of public recreation and playgrounds, including but not limited to a community swimming pool; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect for such recreation program if the millage is approved and levied in 2012 is approximately $518,588?[3]
