A Carbondale Fire District Levy Override measure was on the November 1, 2011 ballot in the Carbondale fire district area which is in Gunnison, Pitkin and Garfield Counties.

This measure was approved
Garfield

  • YES 1,690 (61.19%)Approveda
  • NO 1,072 (38.81%)[1]

Gunnison

  • YES 57 (50.89%)Approveda
  • NO 55 (49.11%)[2]

This measure sought to allow a mill override at a rate of $775,236 in order to help pay for general fund needs of the fire protection district. The committee, Friends of the Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District had been formed to help promote this measure and campaign in favor of its approval.[3]
