Floyd County Schools is located in Floyd County, Georgia. The county seat of Floyd County is Rome. Floyd County is home to 96,317 residents, according to the United States Census Bureau.[1] Floyd County Schools was the 36th-largest school district in Georgia, serving 10,220 students during the 2013-2014 school year.[2]

Floyd County underperformed in comparison to the rest of Georgia in terms of higher education achievement and median household income in 2012. The United States Census Bureau found that 18.2 percent of Floyd County residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree compared to 27.8 percent for Georgia as a whole. The median household income in Floyd County was $41,442 compared to $49,604 for the state of Georgia. The poverty rate in Floyd County was 20.9 percent compared to 17.4 percent for the entire state.[1]
