Billy W. Townsend (Tennessee)
Billy W. Townsend was a judge for the Lewis County General Sessions Court in Tennessee. He also had jurisdiction in the Lewis County Juvenile Court. He began serving as a general sessions judge in 1982.[1] He was defeated in his bid for re-election in 2014 and stepped down when his term ended on August 31, 2014.[2]
Education
Townsend received a degree in business law from the University of Tennessee in 1965 and his J.D. from the same school in 1966.[1]
Career
Townsend is a former private practice lawyer. He became a general sessions judge in 1982.[1]

General: He was defeated in the general election on August 7, 2014, after receiving 42.7 percent of the vote. He competed against Michael E. Hinson.
