Campaign themes
2012
Valente-Compton describes her political philosophy as follows:
"I am a very liberal, progressive Democrat. I hope to restore tax equity to the New Mexico business community by closing the "box store loop hole" which permits large corporations to operate without paying a profit tax, while NM small businesses struggle to pay their fare share. I will fight for my friends in the gay community to ensure that they have marriage equality. I will work to improve access to quality health care in New Mexico. Most of all I promise to elevate the tone in Santa Fe, and put an end to the partisan bickering that is holding back our state."[2]
