Richardson earned his B.A. degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and his Master in Administration and Supervision from Liberty University. I taught 14 years as a special education teacher in 5 different districts. I taught every grade from K-12 and every core subject. During my time as a teacher, I served as an in-service instructor on classroom management, and I was a coordinator of 504 exceptional education services. I was a mentor to new teachers and an assistant Varsity Basketball coach. I also served 9 years as a juvenile probation officer where I co-wrote and anger management program. Currently, I am a Tester/Evaluator at the Department of Corrections schools.
  • I feel my experience working in the schools gives me knowledge of what is actually going on in the classroom. This knowledge will bring a voice for the students, parents and teacher.
  • Making sure our school and classroom environments are safe and conducive to learning. We want to ensure the teachers have the resources needed to confront all distractions in the classroom. This would also include working with mental health counselors for students and teachers.
  • I want to retain and recruit quality teachers for our students. I think its essential to have quality teachers fully staffed in schools, thus reducing class size.
I am most passionate about ensuring all student achieve their learning goals. This would include academic and future endeavors. Advocating from the school board positions will give a bigger voice to achieve these measures. I am trying to prepare and be ready to do what is necessary to improve the quality of life for our students and community.
As a school board member, the primary job is establish policies that help all students and staff in the district succeed. In addition, it is keeping open communication with the students, parents, and staff, regarding policies and needs within each school within the district.
The constituents are the students, parents, and staff I am elected to serve.
I believe open communication with all stakeholders involved with schools is so important, to ensure all voices are heard and so that all stakeholders know what is happening within the schools in their community. I believe any organization that can help with mental health, encouragement of student success, would be beneficial.
This has to be a collaborative endeavor with all stakeholders. (I.e. Students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community partnerships)
By providing day counseling in the schools for students and educators.
I would keep an open door and open communication policy so parents feel comfortable coming to me and expressing their concerns about students and schools.
