Campaign themes

2014

Granda highlighted the following plan on his campaign website:

To move Central Unified forward into a position of prominence, we must focus on these things:
  1. Closing the academic gap between students within the district.
  2. Address the aging infrastructure within the district.
  3. Investing in vocational programs that kids want to participate such as computer programming, engineering, agriculture and fire science.
  4. Providing a safer atmosphere for learning by ensuring safer campuses by increasing security.

In addition I believe the board should play a role in the community proactively seeking greater involvement and responsibility on the part of the parents. As a businessman, I know how important an education is to success. That's why I'm committed to ensuring that EVERY CHILD ! ! has an opportunity to succeed while attending Central Unified schools.[3]
