Oliphant ran for election to the Union County Magistrate Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Democratic primary on June 3, 2014, receiving 65.1 percent of the vote. He competed against Joey L. Montoya.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 35.0 percent of the vote. He competed against Timothy F. Hodo. [1][2]
