Dwayne N. Knutsen is a former judge on the Minnesota Eighth Judicial District. He was appointed by Governor Tim Pawlenty (R) on June 24, 2010, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Bruce Christopherson.[1][2] He ran for election in 2012. Knutsen retired from the court on September 30, 2021.[3]

Education

Knutsen received his undergraduate degree in 1973 from the University of South Dakota at Vermillion and his J.D. in 1985 from the University of Minnesota.[1][2]

Career

Knutsen worked with the private firm of Prindle, Maland, Sellner, Stennes, Knutsen and Stermer from 1986 to 2010. He was also a part-time assistant public defender for the 8th Judicial District from 1995 to 1998 and a Chippewa County Attorney from 1999 to 2010.[1][2]

Elections

2012

Knutsen ran unopposed in the general election November 6, 2012.[4] He received 99.56% of the vote.[5]
