Karmin Kirschner participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on April 5, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Karmin Kirschner's responses follow below.[2]
What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
“ | 1) Identify inefficient processes and collaborate with employees, and internal and external customers to improve them. 2) Fortify data security to protect sensitive information. |
” |
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?
“ | The District Clerk's position is less partisan than others, although, I am passionate about equality and will always strive to maintain equality within the office. I support the protection of an individual's rights and security, and with that includes safeguarding sensitive information. I will always promote transparency to maintain integrity as Collin County's District Clerk.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[4]

Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Karmin Kirschner answered the following:
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?
“ | I would like to follow all of those who use their positions of power to help others. Think of your favorite philanthropic athlete, or influencers who have gone before Congress to fight to improve policies. I may not have that level of reach, but I want to use the resources I do have to help improve my community.[4] | ” |
“ | I encourage all to watch the documentary "Happy". Although not quite political, it is my life philosophy to focus on the good and strive to always see the bigger picture. If we look past our political differences, we all generally want the same thing for our lives and families.[4] | ” |
“ | Empathy - If an official has empathy for all Americans, then he/she can remain grounded and in touch with the public they serve. Honesty & Integrity - Officeholders work for the public. We need to remember this and elect candidates who will work for the people and place serving them before anything else. Innovation - With new ideas, we can increase efficiency within governmental roles and accomplish more with smaller budgets.[4] | ” |
“ | Christmas is my favorite holiday. Some of my family members work in retail, so it is one of the few days we all have off to spend together. We end up eating too much, laughing, and making hilarious memories![4] | ” |
“ | On the Night You Were Born. This book was the first I read to my son after we brought him home from the hospital. He is the greatest blessing we have been given. Reading it still makes me cry![4] | ” |
“ | Since my family is not a "thing", I choose my paint supplies. I enjoy painting as a stress reliever![4] | ” |
“ | Fun facts: The District Clerk's office accepts passport applications and provides pools of prospective jurors for county courts![4] | ” |
“ | I do not believe political experience is necessary, although I do believe it is beneficial to have familiarity with government. In my analytic roles, I've managed projects either directly with or mandated by government entities.[4] | ” |
“ | This officeholder should have a thorough knowledge of data and digital security. My background in managing projects would facilitate improvements in processes within the office.[4] | ” |
