Campaign themes

2015

Cordova-Brookey highlighted the following statement on his campaign website:

The District is and should be in partnership with not only those in our schools but our community as a whole. No matter where you live in our community, it is important that every voice be heard.

My experience with the PTA has led me to a greater understanding of what is going on in our schools , from the need for more student services, to understanding Common Core and the issues raised by its implementation, to new local control funding. And I have also become aware of and am in tune with the concerns of our citizens who live around our schools , including increased worries about traffic safety. We need better communication within our District, and as your Board member I will make myself visible to let our teachers and our community know we care about their concerns and that what they have to say matters.

I have a passion for wanting to make a difference. As a member of the GUSD Board of Education, I pledge to work every day to make sure than not only my children, but all children in this District, receive the high-quality education that they deserve. [7]
