|- I am a reasonable person interested in providing the best government for the residents of my district. I tell the truth. I am fair. I am looking for good.
- Democrats need to fight hard to defend our Democracy.
- There is too much big money in politics. Congressmen should not be able to trade in stocks while voting on matters affecting that stock.

I believe that salaried employee are taxed to the fullest extent of the Tax Code while business owners are able to shelter and hide revenues and then play accounting games in order not to pay any taxes.

Campaign website
Perez's campaign website stated the following:
“ |
MY PLATFORM Jobs The people of District 27 deserve higher paying jobs. For our economy to grow, we need to ensure that we are paying people a living wage so they can afford to spend money in our local stores. I believe we should raise the minimum wage and provide job training to older residents that are looking for a job in today’s economy. Health Care Health care is a basic human right, not a benefit that can be taken away. That is why I support a single payer system, so that your health care is not attached to your job. This will reduce the cost of health care, expand the number of people benefiting, and benefit our economy by helping more people get back to work faster. Environment Clean Air to breathe. Clean Water to drink. Healthy Soil to grow food. These are not radical beliefs. These are non-negotiable for not only the people in our district, but across the country. More needs to be done by us. As a meteorologist who studied the atmosphere for over 40 years, I know that climate change is real. It’s time to fully fund the Environmental Protection Agency and hold polluters responsible by imposing large enough fines that make them think twice about polluting again. Immigration Our economy and its future growth depend on having enough workers to grow with it. There are currently 14 million undocumented workers in the US. We need real immigration reform that would make undocumented workers LEGAL workers by providing a work visa and an EIN to collect federal taxes. In addition, we should pass the DREAM ACT, which will provide citizenship to the children brought by their parents.[3] |
