Marc Loredo was a candidate for District 6 representative on the Tyler Independent School District board of trustees in Texas. He was defeated in the general election that was held on May 7, 2016.

Loredo spoke in favor of working to remove a federal desegregation order placed on the district in 1970 but felt the district still had work to do to comply with the order.

Loredo is the director of the Tyler Education Foundation. He also works as a mortgage loan officer for Texas Farm Credit. He is a member of Leadership Tyler Class 23. He also previously served on the Hispanic Education Alliance, the East Texas Hispanic Leadership Council, the Institutional Review Board at UT Health Northeast, and the Tyler Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.[1]

Two of the seven seats on the Tyler Independent School District school board were up for general election on May 7, 2016. Incumbents Wade Washmon and Jean Washington ran unopposed and won re-elction to the seats in Districts 1 and 3, respectively. Their elections were canceled due to a lack of oppoistion. District 6 incumbent Fritz Hager Jr. defeated challenger Marc Loredo for the seat.[2][3]
