Tayfun Selen
Tayfun Selen (Republican Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent New Jersey's 11th Congressional District. He lost in the Republican primary on June 7, 2022.
Selen was a 2015 Republican candidate for District 27 of the New Jersey General Assembly.
Selen was sworn in as mayor of Chatham Township in January 2019.[1]
Biography
Selen earned his Bachelor's of Science in Architecture from Istanbul Technical University and his M.B.A. from Montclair State University. His professional experience includes working for an Architectural and Engineering firm in Cedar Knolls and he works for Lincoln Educational Services as the Vice President of Procurement and Real Estate.[2]

2015
Elections for the New Jersey General Assembly took place in 2015. A primary election was held on June 2, 2015. The general election took place on November 3, 2015. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 30, 2015.[3] Since the general assembly uses multi-member districts, the top two candidates from each party in the primaries advanced to the general election. Incumbent John McKeon and incumbent Mila Jasey were bracketed together and were unopposed in the Democratic primary. Tayfun Selen and Wonkyu "Q" Rim were unopposed in the Republican primary. McKeon, Jasey, Selen, Rim, Damien Caillault (L) and Jeff Hetrick (L) faced off in the general election.[4][5][6][7][8]
2013
Selen ran in the 2013 election for New Jersey General Assembly District 27. Selen was defeated by Angelo Tedesco and Laura Ali in the June 4 Republican primary. The general election took place on November 5, 2013.[9]
