Thomas P. Knapp was a Seventh Judicial District judge for Stearns County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this position on September 25, 1995, and was elected to full terms in 1996, 2002 and 2008.[1] He retired in 2013.[2]

Education

Knapp received his B.A. from St. John's University in 1970 and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1973.[1]

Career

Knapp began his legal career in 1973 as a private practice lawyer in the St. Cloud area and continued to work in this capacity until his judicial appointment. In 1975, he became a partner of the firm of Hughes, Thoreen & Sullivan. He was then a founding partner for Hughes, Thoreen, Mathews & Knapp from 1991 to 1994. After this, he was a founding shareholder and partner of Hughes, Thoreen & Knapp until 1995.[1]
