I'm a fourth generation American and a third generation Veteran. My great grandfather immigrated to the United States from Italy. After my father was killed in the line of duty as a police officer, my family moved to a small farming community. That's where I learned the value of worthwhile work and building lasting relationships.

After serving honorably as a Combat Medic in the U.S. Army, I was compelled to continue serving my country by building sustainable programs. I spearheaded several on three different levels to benefit to benefit Veterans, their families and care providers. Nationally, I’ve worked with officials to improve the healthcare system for Veterans through the Veterans Administration (VA) and the White House. In Texas, I’ve worked with former Governor Rick Perry to launch an online program to connect Veterans and their families to benefits and resources. Locally, I’ve supported Law Enforcement Officers by founding a non-profit to help them in their time of need. After 10 years, all three of those programs are still going strong. (Community Cares, TexVet, KPD LEAF respectively.)

I have also testified to fight for both the GI Bill (improvements) and Hazlewood Act (sustainment) to ensure those who served our country get the educational benefits they've been promised. I plan on using this passion of helping others, along with my experience in Congress.
  • Improving the Economy - It’s amazing what happens when entrepreneurs, a timely idea and free market principles combine. Our economy gains someone who will build something meaningful, improve a process or product or make life more enjoyable. In the past decade, we’ve made amazing strides in technology, innovation and ingenuity. We need to continue to be champions of those who are brave enough to start their own companies and hire others in the process. It takes leadership to make this happen and I’m ready to ensure that radical policies don’t stifle business growth.
  • Secure the Southern Border - To end illegal immigration at our southern border, we need to complete the wall and boost patrols. Illegal immigration encourages and funds human/child trafficking. Human trafficking has become a lucrative criminal market in the United States. The commodities involved in this illicit trade are men, women, and children. Traffickers transport undocumented migrants into the U.S. for work in licit, semi-illicit and illicit industries.
  • Improving Healthcare - Americans deserve health care solutions that provide access and affordable and transparent pricing. We have some of the best doctors, physicians and specialists in the world, but the path is riddled with potholes and roadblocks. Let’s put Americans in charge of their health care and limit the reach of the federal government in those decisions. As a former Combat Medic in the U.S. Army, I understand all too well the experience of being a patient in socialized medicine, both in the military and the VA. Healthy competition brings results that a monopoly can’t offer. I will fight to improve the quality and accessibility of our health care system - all without mandates.
Election Integrity - I served my country and will continue to fight to secure our elections. We need to purge voter rolls of illegal aliens, dead people, and other ineligible individuals. I will fight for voting integrity by Investigating and prosecuting voter fraud.

Supporting Law Enforcement - My father served his country as a Police Officer in the U.S. Army. He served his community after his deployment to Vietnam as a Patrolman. Sadly, after 18 months he was killed in the line of duty. Law enforcement will always have a fierce advocate when I’m elected to Congress. I believe in justice and that no one is above the law.

2nd Amendment Advocate - Growing up in a small farming community, I learned how to properly take care of any firearm I was able to own or shoot – in a safe manner. The military reinforced my resolve to defend ourselves and our right to bear arms. I will protect our Second Amendment rights. I will never allow the government to prevent law-abiding citizens from defending themselves.
I had several amazing leaders while serving in the military but I needed someone who could help me achieve my huge goals as I transitioned out of the Army. I was blessed to have connected with Paul J. Meyer from Waco, TX. He mentored me for seven years and taught me the value of Servant Leadership. Under his guidance, I renewed my Christian faith, created KPD LEAF and completed my Masters from the Ken Blanchard College of Business, Grand Canyon University. He and his family showed me how leaders mentor others and give to charities that strengthen the community.
Rediscovering Republicanism, Renewing America with Our Founding Vision and Values by John Nantz
Honor and Integrity. We need good leaders in office that will be Servant Leaders.
I'm ethical and civic-minded.

I focus on helping and mentoring the next generation of leaders.

I encourage strategic thinking, innovation and action.
Some of the core responsibilities for a Congressman are:

Draft and champion legislation that will improve life for Americans
Be empathetic and resourceful to constituents

Rally those on both sides of the aisle to pass good laws
I will continue to leave a legacy that will inspire others to live a life of Servant Leadership.
At age five, my father was killed in the line of duty. I still remember seeing him on television in his police uniform. In the blink of an eye, I was at his funeral, watching our family, friends and a grateful community say goodbye. My mom, sister and I moved into my grandmother's basement and I promised myself that I would do something to help other families. While I was transitioning out of the Army at Ft. Hood, TX, I founded a charity in my father's name. We named it the Killeen Police Department Law Enforcement Assistance Fund (KPD LEAF). We have an all volunteer staff that has helped us raise over $1,500,000 to distribute to officers and their families in their time of need.
My first job was working on one of the local farms when I was 14 years old. The work truck picked up me and some of my friends at 6:00 am and dropped us off at 6:00 pm. We labored all day in the cotton, corn, milo and soybean fields to earn $50 per day. I would then mow lawns until it got too dark to see my neighbor's yards. I saved up all of my money during two summers to purchase my first car and buy school clothes.

I love working and have continued to work energetically in high school, college, the military and back into a civilian workforce. For the past 16 years, I've dedicated my life to building and improving resources for Veterans. I recently took a leave of absence from a charity to run for Congress.
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. My mentor gifted me a copy of it and I read it every year. Everyone needs to read this book because Napoleon Hill will rekindle your ambition and will urge you to dream bigger with a strong desire.
I would love to have the brilliant mind, extraordinary power of observation and deduction, and the iconic attitude of SHERLOCK HOLMES.
You Can't Always Get What You Want by The Rolling Stones.
A struggle that I've turned into a strength is losing my father at such an early age. I lost a part of my childhood because of his death but in his sacrifice, I learned how to love others without fear.
One quality that makes the U.S. House of Representatives a unique institution is that it is the chamber tasks with creating laws. Which means it has the unique ability to create lasting change. When elected, I will propose legislation to have positive changes on the lives of the American people.
I believe it is beneficial to have experience that helps them navigate the system without losing their values. That can come from many sources and sometimes the best representative is one that hasn't been a career politician.
One of the top challenges Americans will face over the next 10 years is the monumental size of our national debt. Not only is it growing by an alarming factor, the interest on the loans to China are reaching preposterous levels. We need to reduce our debt and increase our production of oil, natural gas, intellectual properties and technology in order to stay competitive. In tandem, we need to strengthen our military and reduce the economic aid we give to countries who are not our allies.
I plan on being on both the Armed Services and Veterans' Affairs committees.
I think the term should've been three years but I see the value of having a two year term.
I will support term limits in Congress. The powerful and well-connected should not be able to continue to use their status to influence elections for decades at a time. It is important for outsiders to stand a chance against a political system that backs wealthy elitists over the constituents they were elected to represent.
Congressman John Carter, 31st District in Texas. I worked with "The Judge" to improve life for active duty military and Veteran in Texas. This led to increased awareness and funding for several programs. I want to continue being an advocate for those who serve in our Armed Forces.
One of my supporters has a 9 year old daughter who wanted to donate during the holidays. That small idea from a little girl turned into a huge program that is being copied around the United States. Abby started a new shoe program for her school and I was inspired to join her as we gave 50 elementary students "name brand" shoes over the holidays. She reminded me of how big of an impact you can have if you are dedicated and passionate.
A priest went into a Washington, D.C., barbershop, got his hair cut and asked how much he owed. “No charge, Father,” the barber said. “I consider it a service to the Lord.” when the barber arrived at his shop the next morning, he found a dozen small prayer booklets on the stoop along with a thank you note from the priest.

A few days later a police officer came in. “How much do I owe you?” the cop asked after his haircut. “No charge, officer,” the barber answered. “I consider it a service to my community.” The next morning the barber found a dozen doughnuts on the stoop along with a thank you note from the police officer.

A few days after that, a Senator walked in for a haircut. “How much do I owe you?” he asked afterward. “No charge,” the barber replied. “I consider it a service to my country.” The next morning when he arrived at the shop, the barber found a dozen Senators waiting on the stoop.
Yes, compromise is both necessary and desirable but only if we do not compromise our values in the process.
It means that the military and law enforcement would both be funded properly! It would also mean that a lot of "pork" would be cut from the bills. We will not be spending our tax payer dollars on frivolous projects that take us deeper into debt.

Campaign website

Stroud’s campaign website stated the following:

2nd Amendment

Growing up in a small farming community, I learned how to properly take care of any firearm I was able to own or shoot – in a safe manner. The military reinforced my resolve to defend ourselves and our right to bear arms. I will protect our Second Amendment rights.

I will never allow the government to prevent law-abiding citizens from defending themselves.

Healthcare

Americans deserve health care solutions that provide access and affordable and transparent pricing. I will fight to improve the quality and accessibility of our health care system.

Economy

It’s amazing what happens when entrepreneurs, a timely idea and free market principles combine.

Schools

Imagine if we took all of the successful principles that made America great and neglected to teach them or the values that made them happen to the next generation. Sadly, we don’t have to imagine because our future leaders are being indoctrinated with ideas that teach them to divide themselves by race, class and gender. Only by mentoring and teaching our youth about the importance of worthwhile work will we be able to get America back on track. Vocational training has evolved and is giving those who want to enter the workforce a fast track to success. Our skilled trades such as plumbers, electricians and welders have seen a need like never before and we need to make clear paths to those vocations.

Critical Race Theory (CRT) is a left-wing, anti-American, Marxist political indoctrination ideology pushed into our classrooms by radicals under the guise of “racial sensitivity.” I will fight to keep CRT out of our schools systems and at all levels of public education.

Election Integrity

I served my country and will continue to fight to secure our elections. We need to purge voter rolls of illegal aliens, dead people, and other ineligible individuals. I will fight for voting integrity by Investigating and prosecuting voter fraud.

Law Enforcement

My father served his country as a Police Officer in the U.S. Army. He served his community after his deployment to Vietnam as Patrolman. Sadly, after 18 months he was killed in the line of duty. Law enforcement will always have a fierce advocate when I’m elected to Congress. I believe in justice and that no one is above the law. My mentor, Paul J. Meyer encouraged me to start a nonprofit organization in my father’s name. Along with a wonderful community of supporters, I spearheaded KPD LEAF which supports the officers, staff and family members of the Killeen Police Department in their time of need.

Secure the Border

To end illegal immigration at our southern border, we need to complete the wall and boost patrols. The traffickers’ foremost goal is to maximize profits — often resulting in physical and mental exploitation of the victims. The sale and distribution of trafficked humans in the U.S. is a global, regional, and national phenomenon. I will focus on policies that protect innocent victims of human trafficking and that promote legal immigration. We must start with actually securing the border instead of just talking about it.

Protect Life

I will always compassionately stand up for pro-life policies in Washington. For every Planned Parenthood, there are 20 comprehensive health centers that do not receive funding. The $500 million dollars that Planned Parenthood receives annually should be reallocated to these comprehensive health centers that provide a much broader range of holistic services including mammograms, a service that Planned Parenthood has falsely claimed to provide. Every human life has value, meaning, potential and purpose.

Veterans

I served my country for four and a half years of active service, with deployments to Kosovo, Kuwait and Iraq (OIF). During these years, I learned volumes about team building, leadership, and camaraderie. My goal is to fight for every Veteran; to fix the current health and medical issues at the VA, to address the number of homeless Veterans on the streets, to get additional funding and resources so they can overcome any physical and mental issues they may face. I’ve been blessed to have worked and volunteered with over 250 Veteran Service Organizations in the last 16 years. I will continue to seek out new and innovative ways to connect Veterans to each other and their benefits. I will also fight to help fund the organizations that are truly making a difference in the lives of those who served our country.

Term Limits

I will support term limits in Congress. The powerful and well-connected should not be able to continue to use their status to influence elections for decades at a time. It is important for outsiders to stand a chance against a political system that backs wealthy elitists over the constituents they were elected to represent.[2]
