John L. Hauptman
John L. Hauptman was a judge of the Illinois Third District Appellate Court in Illinois. The Illinois Supreme Court appointed him to the bench on November 23, 2021, to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Vicki Wright. Hauptman did not seek re-election in 2022.
Hauptman served on the Fourteenth Circuit Court in Illinois from 2004 to 2016. He was elected to the bench upon the death of Dan Dunagan in 2004 and was retained in 2010.[1] Hauptman retired on December 5, 2016.[2]
Education
Hauptman earned a B.A. from Western Illinois University, going on to receive his J.D. from the John Marshall Law School. He was admitted to the bar in 1978.[3]
