Stephen J. Sfekas was an associate judge of the Eighth Circuit Court for Baltimore City in Maryland. He was appointed by Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) on January 28, 2010, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge John M. Glynn.[1] Sfekas retired from the bench on February 11, 2017.[2][3]

Sfekas earned an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, a master's degree in history from Yale University, and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. His experience includes work as an assistant attorney general for the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, a cochair of the Governor's Transition Work Group on Disabilities, a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Joseph Young, and an attorney in private practice.[3]

Sfekas was re-elected to the Eighth Circuit Court, along with four other judges, in the general election on November 2, 2010. He received 19.08% of the vote.[4][5]
