Joseph S. Michael is a judge of the Maryland 4th Circuit Court Washington County. He assumed office on March 11, 2022. His current term ends in 2025.

He was appointed to the court on February 17, 2022 by Governor Larry Hogan to replace Daniel Patrick Dwyer.[1] Michael served as a Deputy State Attorney for Washington County for 18 years before being appointed to the circuit court. He also served as the assistant state attorney for ten years.[2]

Education

Dwyer received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1987 and his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1991.[2]
