Russell T. Perkins
Russell T. Perkins (Democratic Party) is a judge for Part IV of the Tennessee 20th Judicial District Chancery Court. His current term ends on September 1, 2030.
Perkins (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for the Part IV judge of the Tennessee 20th Judicial District Chancery Court. He won in the general election on August 4, 2022.
Perkins was appointed by former Governor Phil Bredesen in March 2008 to replace former Chancellor Richard Dinkins.[1][2][3][4]
Biography
Education
Perkins received his undergraduate degree from Tennessee State University in 1978 and his J.D. degree from the Ohio State University College of Law in 1981.[1][5]
Career
Perkins began his career in August 1981 as an assistant attorney general in Ohio. A year later, he moved to Nashville to work as an associate for the law firm of Williams and Dinkins. He later became a partner of the firm and worked in that capacity until April 1994. Perkins then joined the Tennessee Attorney General's Office. He worked in various capacities at that office until his appointment to the Davidson County Chancery Court in 2008.[1][5]
