Sanjay Tailor is an acting judge of the Illinois 1st District Appellate Court. He assumed office on October 3, 2022.
Tailor (Democratic Party) is also a judge for the 9th Subcircuit of the Cook County Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois. He assumed office on December 5, 2022. His current term ends on December 4, 2028.
Tailor (Democratic Party) ran for election for the 9th Subcircuit judge of the Cook County Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
The Illinois Supreme Court assigned Tailor to the Illinois 1st District Appellate Court on September 14, 2022, to replace Judge Daniel James Pierce. The assignment was effective October 3, 2022, and will stay in effect until further order of the court.[1]
Tailor served as an associate judge on the Cook Judicial Circuit Court from 2003 to 2021.[2] He was first appointed to the court in April 2003.[3]
Education
Tailor earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware, and a J.D. from the Loyola University of Chicago School of Law.[4]
