Wentzville R-IV School District is located in east-central Missouri in St. Charles County. The county seat of St. Charles County is St. Charles. St. Charles County is home to 373,495 residents, according to the United States Census Bureau.[2]


St. Charles County outperformed the rest of Missouri in terms of higher education achievement in 2013. The United States Census Bureau found that 35.1 percent of St. Charles County residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree compared to 26.2 percent for Missouri as a whole. The current superintendent of Wentzville R-IV School District is Dr. Curtis Cain, who is serving as interim for the 2013-2014 school year. He has his Bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and his Master's and doctorate from Iowa State University.[5]

Members of the Wentzville School Board are elected at-large to three-year terms. Two seats were up for election in April 2013; Board President Dale Schaper and member Sandy Fitzgerald were elected to the board. Three seats will be on the ballot on April 8, 2014 and two seats in April 2015.

Public comments are welcome at each regular Board meeting during the period designated for citizen statements. To address the Board, sign in before the meeting convenes at 7 p.m. at the Board table.
