- Think Big Picture. Develop long term plans based on data and real results. Collaborate with partners and stakeholders. Look for innovative ideas that meet the urban location to deliver the results we all hope to live with for years to come. If it’s worth doing, let’s do it well. Ensure high-quality outcomes by setting the cadence of brilliance as a norm. Be relentless in adherence to standards and the constituent’s expectations. Employ Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and/or Lean management principles throughout projects at every chance.
- Be Good Neighbors. Work with local people, agencies, inspectors, vendors, suppliers, and teams to understand and operate successfully in the local environment. Don’t disregard the people who came before us or those who will be here after us… what we do will impact both. Speak respectfully, listen adamantly, and check for understanding often. Don’t make commitments that cannot be honored. Being true to our words will enlist the trust and respect of the people around us.
- Ensuring transparency means having a plan in advance. Communicate, Communicate, Communicate. Do not assume. Plan ahead. Get information out in a timely manner and with consideration for those receiving it. Be diligent about accurate meeting minutes, notes, and/or copies of information and utilize all the tools we have to deliver our communication plan. Manage scope-creep with open and honest conversations and quick-responding and accurate communications.

• Accountability and Transparency – Public trust is critical, communicate honestly, disclose relevant information, and be held accountable for our actions.
• Strong accountability measures—such as independent audits, public reporting, and oversight bodies—help reinforce trust and efficiency. Many countries and organizations work toward improving financial transparency through initiatives like open data policies, public procurement disclosures, and anti-corruption frameworks.
