The mayor and nine seats on the Tulsa City Council were up for election in 2016. The filing deadline was April 13, 2016, and there was a primary election on June 28, 2016. Incumbent Connie Dodson defeated Skip Steele and Allen Branch in the Tulsa City Council District 6 primary election.[1]
