Allen Schmidt
Allen Schmidt is a former Democratic member of the Kansas State Senate, representing District 36 from February 2011 to 2013. Schmidt was appointed in February 2011 to fill a vacancy left by the resignation of Janis Lee, who was appointed to be the chief hearing officer for the Kansas Court of Tax Appeals.[1]

Schmidt won election in the 2012 election for Kansas State Senate District 40. Schmidt ran unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary and was defeated by Ralph Ostmeyer (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[3][4]
