Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Seda's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Economic: We must as a State become business friendly. We must offer our private sector businesses and federal partnerships a competitive edge over our neighboring states. We must not forget our small business partnerships. I support a flat tax which would unleash economic growth for our beloved state. It would allow our small businesses to compete with larger businesses, while benefiting the citizens of Maryland.
  • Education: While I support national educational standards, these standards and the corresponding testing and curriculum, should be created and approved by a board of highly trained educators. This board of educators would be made up of teachers who have the training, education, and experience necessary to develop rigorous standards and curriculum that are also engaging to the teachers and students who will be using said standards.
  • Human Resource Laws: I will also strengthen human resources laws to protect employees who were not given due process under the U.S. Constitution, U.S.C. Title 5, U.S.C. Title 38. I will write laws to hold accountable both federal and state managers who abuse the rules and regulations. I will hold accountable all attorneys and managers who, verbally or in writing, falsely accuse an employee. I will work to give the employee the right to sue all parties for slander and defamation of character. There will be no time limit in a federal or state case, which would make it impossible for agencies to abuse the system by “running the clock out” on any case.
  • Medicaid and Medicare: We must protect our elderly in the late stages of their lives. We must hold accountable the State and Federal agencies who abuse their power.
  • National Defense: Today’s world has become increasingly dangerous with the threat of terrorism both domestically and internationally. We must protect our borders at all costs. It is the duty of the public servant to serve the citizens and uphold the U.S. Constitution. We must build up our military to be the best in the world. It is our government’s primary responsibility to protect our citizenry against domestic and foreign threats.
