Campaign website
Green's campaign website stated the following:
“ | District 2 key issues page
As our city is ranked at the bottom of the list, Antoinette would like to work with city leaders, in order to improve the opportunities for minorities and young adults. Minorities now make up the majority of our city and should be given equal opportunity. Also, Antoinette would like to work with leaders to ensure that businesses receiving funding from the city, are giving opportunities to people from different socioeconomic statuses. Let's hold our leaders accountable for laying out a plan to show our citizens how they can progress.
With the growing amount of crime in the district, Antoinette is asking that the City do more to protect our citizens. She would like to propose monthly town hall meetings with local precincts so that all members of the community are aware of the latest threats or improvements. Police transparency continues to be an issue in our community, for that reason, Antoinette believes that all officer involved shootings should be investigated by an outside agency. Body Cam footage should be released in a timely matter in order to remain transparent. Antoinette would also like to see more programs that help bridge the gap between the police and the everyday citizen.
Although Charlotte is an ideal place for developers to build, it should not be at the cost of the residents that are already living here. No senior citizen should be forced from their home. Antoinette would like to work with banking institutions to help educate the people on the programs available to them. Instead of giving tax breaks or incentive, show people how to invest in their homes. This will allow room for the younger generation to move into the growing west end, and still allow of Charlotte natives to keep their homes.[2] |
