2015
Diaz's campaign website highlighted the following themes for the 2015 election:
“ |
My family arrived from Cuba in 1994. Like many of us they were fleeing the Castro Brother's Regime. When they arrived they had nothing, but the clothing on their backs and a whole lot of determination. As they grew in their community, they opened businesses and became job creators in our great city. This hard work and determination molded me into the man I am today. I grew up learning about the satisfaction that came from helping and that great things came from hard work. Those are the two qualities I plan to bring to the dais. With my ample business experience, dedication to my community, and heavy involvement in community activism I can promise you three things: 1) As your commissioner, I will work tirelessly to ensure that all Miamians feel safe in our city, can grow in our city, and want to stay in our city. 2) As your neighbor, I will always be available. I want to talk to you, get to know you, and find out how we can make Miami a better Miami. 3) As your friend, I will fight tooth and nail to protect your home, business, and tax dollars from the the wasteful spending and cronyism that has taken over City Hall.
