Arizona Measure Nos. 100-101 was on the ballot as an initiated constitutional amendment in Arizona on November 8, 1932. It was defeated.

A "yes" vote supported this constitutional amendment to:

  • provide a maximum limit on the amount of money that the Arizona State Legislature can appropriate from public funds for any given fiscal year;
  • provide that appropriations made by the Legislature that exceed the established maximum limit would be considered invalid; and
  • require a biennial state budget.

A "no" vote opposed this constitutional amendment to:

  • provide a maximum limit on the amount of money that the Arizona State Legislature can appropriate from public funds for any given fiscal year;
  • provide that appropriations made by the Legislature that exceed the established maximum limit would be considered invalid; and
  • require a biennial state budget.

AMENDING THE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA BY ADDING THERETO AN ARTICLE DESIGNATED "ARTICLE XXV-LIMITING STATE EXPENDITURES"; PROVIDING A MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATIONS WHICH MAY BE MADE FROM THE PUBLIC FUNDS OF THE STATE BY THE LEGISLATURE FOR ANY FISCAL YEAR; INVALIDATING APPROPRIATIONS MADE IN EXCESS THEREOF AND PROVIDING A PROCEDURE IN RESPECT THERETO; DEFINING PUBLIC FUNDS OF THE STATE; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE GOVERNOR TO PREPARE AND SUBMIT TO THE LEGISLATURE BIENNIALLY A BUDGET OF STATE EXPENDITURES AND PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF THE GOVERNOR AND THE LEGISLATURE IN RESPECT THERETO; AND DECLARING THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ARTICLE MANDATORY.
