Artis Reis
Artis Reis is a senior judge of District 5C of Iowa. She became a district judge on this court in 1998, after serving as a district associate judge since 1995.[1] She retired from the court in 2012 but retained senior status.[2][3]
Biography and Education
Reis was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa and grew up in the town of Monroe. She received her B.S. (1969), M.S.W. (1976) and J.D. (1976) degrees from the University of Iowa.[1]
Career
Reis has worked for the state government, practiced law, and taught at Drake University Law School. She was appointed district associate judge of District Five in 1995. She was promoted to District Judge in 1998. She is also the former presiding Judge for the Peer Review Court and has served as the Truancy Court Judge for Polk County.[1]
