Avery Fortenberry was a candidate for at-large representative on the Fox C-6 School District school board in Missouri. Fortenberry was defeated in the at-large general election on April 4, 2017.

Fortenberry was also a 2014 Republican candidate for District 112 of the Missouri House of Representatives. Although he still appeared on the primary ballot, Fortenberry suspended his campaign in July and endorsed Rob Vescovo.[1]

Three seats on the Fox C-6 School District school board were up for at-large general election on April 4, 2017. In their bids for re-election, board incumbents Dawn Mullins and Vernon Sullivan faced challengers Scott Stewart, Avery Fortenberry, and former board member Steve Holloway. Stewart, Holloway, and Mullins won the election.[2][3]

Elections for the Missouri House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 25, 2014. Robert Butler defeated Larry Steinkamp in the Democratic primary. Rob Vescovo defeated Charles Groeteke and Avery Fortenberry in the Republican primary. (Fortenberry suspended his campaign and endorsed Vescovo in July, although his name still appeared on the ballot.) Butler faced Vescovo in the general election. Vescovo defeated Butler in the general election.[4][5][6][7]
