I am a second-generation, lifelong resident of Cutler Bay. I grew up here, attended Dade County Public Schools, and went on to graduate from the State University System of Florida. My family still lives here, and my wife Amy and I are raising our children here as well. This community is not just where I live — it’s home across three generations.

For the past 12 years, I have been honored to serve the residents of Cutler Bay in public service. I spent four years on the Town’s Education Advisory Committee before being elected to the Town Council in 2018, where I have served for the past eight years. In that time, I have worked to protect our community’s character, improve our infrastructure, and advocate for resources that benefit our residents.

Outside of local government, I work at Florida International University and have spent much of my career in the arts and education. My experiences in public service, education, and the arts have shaped my belief that local government should be responsive, collaborative, and focused on improving everyday life for the people it serves. I’m not a politician — I’m a public servant who cares deeply about the future of our Town.

  • Protect Our Small-Town Character While PlanCutler Bay is special because it still feels like a true community where neighbors know each other and families put down roots. As someone who grew up here and is raising my own family here, protecting that character is deeply personal to me. Growth in South Florida is inevitable, but it must be managed responsibly. I will continue working to protect our residential neighborhoods from inappropriate overdevelopment while directing smart, strategic growth to appropriate areas such as the US-1 corridor. By balancing preservation with thoughtful redevelopment, we can attract new businesses and opportunities while maintaining the quality of life that makes Cutler Bay such a great place to live.
  • Invest in Infrastructure That Improves Daily Life Local government should focus on the things that affect residents every day: safe roads, reliable drainage, and transportation that works. Traffic congestion, roadway safety, and stormwater management are growing concerns in South Miami-Dade, and Cutler Bay must continue investing in solutions that improve daily life for residents. As mayor, I will advocate for infrastructure improvements that address traffic, strengthen drainage systems, and ensure our town receives its fair share of regional transportation investments. Smart infrastructure planning helps protect our homes, keeps our community moving, and ensures Cutler Bay is prepared for the future.
  • Strengthen the Local Economy and Build Community Cutler Bay has tremendous potential to become an even stronger economic and community hub for South Miami-Dade. Too often residents must leave town for jobs, restaurants, and entertainment. By encouraging thoughtful redevelopment and supporting local businesses, we can bring more opportunities closer to home while maintaining the character of our community. Strategic investment along our commercial corridors can attract new businesses, restaurants, and services while strengthening our local economy. At the same time, investing in parks, events, and community spaces helps bring residents together and builds a stronger sense of community throughout Cutler Bay.

I am passionate about public policies that strengthen quality of life and build stronger communities. Responsible growth and land-use planning are critical to protecting Cutler Bay’s neighborhoods while guiding development to appropriate areas. I am also deeply committed to investing in infrastructure, including transportation improvements and resilient stormwater systems that protect our community. Supporting local businesses and economic development is equally important so residents can live, work, and enjoy their community close to home. I also strongly believe in the importance of arts and culture, which enrich our community, strengthen local identity, and create opportunities for education, creativity, and economic activity.
