Ballotpedia's Tuesday Count stays steady for third consecutive week
February 23, 2010
By Bailey Ludlam
Despite signatures pending in at least four states Ballotpedia's Tuesday Count remains steady at 69 certified ballot measures in 27 states. At least four initiatives in four different states have filed signatures and are waiting for news of whether they met the state's signature requirements for the 2010 ballot. Pending initiatives include: Alaska Parental Notification Initiative; California Marijuana Legalization Initiative; Colorado Fetal Personhood Amendment; and Ohio Slot Machines Veto Referendum.
Although most current initiatives are aiming for the Primary November 2, 2010 ballot, that's not the only election voters will have a chance to vote on proposed measures. Two measures in Oregon have already appeared on the ballot on January 26th. The next upcoming election will take place in Ohio on May 4th, when voters will vote on a bond and a gambling measure. Other election dates to keep an eye on are: May 18th, June 8th, August 24th and October 2nd.
Taxes and gambling, however, aren't the only issues on the board this year.
