Barry S. Schermer is a judge for the United States bankruptcy court, Eastern District of Missouri. He was first appointed to the bench in 1986.[1]

Education

Schermer earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a J.D. from Washington University.[2]

Career

Prior to joining court, Schermer worked as a partner at Susman, Schermer, Rimmel & Parker.

During his service as a judge, Schermer was appointed to the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the Eighth Circuit in 1996, and reappointed in 2003 for a seven-year term. For the past 20 years, Shermer has taught as an adjunct law professor at his alma mater, Washington University.[3]
