Ben Medina
Ben Medina was a 2016 nonpartisan candidate for District 1 of the Lubbock City Council in Texas. He was defeated in the special election on May 7, 2016.

The city of Lubbock, Texas, held elections for mayor and city council on May 7, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 19, 2016. Four of six council seats were up for election on the same day, the three regularly-scheduled for election and District 1, which was up for a special election. Two of them were up for runoff election on June 25, 2016, including the District 1 seat.[1] Juan Chadis and Frank Gutierrez defeated Ben Medina and Tristan Ramirez in the Lubbock City Council District 1 special election.[2]
