Billy Shuman was a 2013 Republican candidate for District 42 of the South Carolina State Senate.[1]

Shuman ran in a special election for South Carolina State Senate District 42. The seat was vacant following Sen. Robert Ford's (D) resignation on May 31, 2013 amidst an ethics investigation. Shuman was unopposed in the Republican primary which takes place on August 13, and was defeated by Marlon Kimpson (D) in the special election, which took place on October 10.[2][1]
