Brenda Desmond was a 2010 candidate for judge of the 4th District Court of Montana. Desmond lost to Karen S. Townsend in the November 2, 2010 general election. The seat for which Desmond and Townsend competed was held by Douglas G. Harkin, who announced that he would retire at the end of his term.[1]
