Bruce Wilkerson
Bruce Wilkerson serves on the City Commission for Bowling Green, Kentucky. He also operates Wilkerson Properties, a real estate management and leasing company.
Contributions to TIF District
Wilkerson has been involved in the development of the Bowling Green TIF District. His stance is that the city should not become involved in the "Signature TIF" development unless it's guaranteed the city would not face further taxation on the new developments in the future. He pledged in February 2008 that the city would not give money to the projects, saying it was a "deal breaker."[1]
This was also noted on April 26, 2007 when Wilkerson reiterated that no existing tax monies would be going to the project beyond that of a new increment financing district and that there was no risk of future taxation for the project.[2]
Professional history
Wilkerson has also been employed by the following corporations: Sheldon Enterprises, Chief Financial Officer, (managing business and financial affairs of entities owned by Steve Sheldon – Nations Medicines, Pharmacy Express, Commercial Property Development, etc.) Retired 2007.
Prior to that Wilkerson served at the Bowling Green Police Department for 20 years before retiring in 1996. His position included being the Administrative Commander (Captain) responsible for hiring, training, equipment, acquisition, budgeting, etc., also served as Patrol Shift Commander, Drug Enforcement Supervisor (OCDETF), Investigator, Patrol Officer.
